Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2019

TIMSS is an important educational research project on Grade 4 (Primary 4 in Hong Kong) and Grade 8 (Secondary 2 in Hong Kong) student performances in mathematics and science around the world. It is administered by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) and is designed to measure and interpret differences in national educational systems. Hong Kong participated in the previous TIMSS in 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015. TIMSS 2019 is the 7th assessment in providing achievement data at four time points over a 24-year period. The Main Survey of TIMSS 2019 in Hong Kong has started in April 2019.
